Split

Sailing in Split. When sailing to Split and entering the harbour you will understand why this 1700 years old town is often referred to as the pearl of the Mediterranean. Split has an amazing waterfront built along the walls of the palace of roman emperor Diocletian. During the centuries a whole town has developed within the roman palace, many houses were built leaning on the walls of the palace. You can still visit the basement of the roman palace, the Jupiter temple and palace’s Peristyle. Or you can wander through the labyrinth of old, narrow streets for hours. The whole old town of Split and it’s waterfront is full of good places to shop, eat or have a drink.
